Reporting to the Senior Director of Benefits and Compensation, this position is responsible for the assessment and effectiveness of all compensation design in support of the Company strategy. This includes the design, development, implementation, communication, and process administration of all employee compensation programs, as well as responsibility for all compensation activities and materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILTIES & Estimated time spent
Compensation Strategy Design, implement, and effectively administer the company philosophy and approach to compensation.Evaluate and make enhancements to company compensation programs, plan and incentive structures to drive desired behaviors and improve on links of individual performance to company performance.Keep abreast of best practices/industry trends and continually review compensation processes, procedures and systems. Develop and drive metrics to assess compensation effectiveness.Continually evaluate effectiveness and accuracy of salary ranges and pay scales, and create courses of action to make them a more prominent and effective tool used by the company.Work collectively with Talent Management to drive implementation of the companys performance management, goal setting, and merit processes for employee populations.Create and lead the company strategy and process for spot and discretionary processes. Work collaboratively with Human Resources and Payroll on implementation of the company process and payouts.Lead the field and corporate annual merit increase and bonus payout processes.Manage compensation design projects as assigned in support of the Companys business objectives.Accrue for the corporate annual and quarterly bonuses/incentives with accounting on a monthly basis.40% of time
Consultation to Business
Provide expertise, consultation and compensation solutions to department and business leaders and Human Resources on compensation strategies, pay equity, and industry trends/best practices to help achieve their business objectives.Ensure Human Resources business partners receive the training, resources and knowledge to resolve escalated compensation issues and effectively address unique situations.Provide counsel and recommendations on external total compensation offers and internal promotions.Provide counsel to department leadership, including the analysis and preparation of all compensation related materials for compensation committee and board meetings as necessary.Provide expert advice on market and internal equity position of individuals or groups.Maintain the company job description library, compensation and job code tables, job code titles, pay range matrices, and Human Resources compensation folders for use by Human Resources business partners.Ensure compensation programs comply with legal and other regulations.30% of time
Team Leadership
Work collaboratively with Human Resources business partners to design and maintain the appropriate organizational structure for the Compensation team.Select, train, develop, and provide coaching/leadership to a high performing compensation team.Ensure Compensation objectives and processes are met and implemented timely.Develop a compensation team that provides high quality partnership and responsiveness with HR and business leaders as it relates to review of job descriptions for accuracy, providing timely and accurate compensation advice and recommendations to include appropriate leveling and pay for new positions or promotions.Facilitate positive and proactive communications, coordination, and consideration of customer needs in order to achieve mutually effective outcomes in support of business objectives.30% of 100% time spent
ORGANIZATION RELATIONSHIPS
This position reports to the Senior Director of Benefits and Compensation and will lead and manage the work of the Compensation team, a group of approximately three people. The Director interacts on a regular basis with every level of professional employee, management, and occasionally with executives. This position must build and maintain collaborative business relationships with other Human Resources functional areas and cross functional teams such as Legal, Payroll and Finance.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesStrategic thinker and demonstrated knowledge and experience of competitive compensation strategies and practices including incentive plan design, job evaluation, market analysis, etc.Ability to apply compensation knowledge, philosophy, best practice and sound decision making processes to current and proposed compensation programs.Ability to identify issues in a timely manner, creatively design solutions and proactively implement strategies. Ability to partner and build effective relationships at all levels.Maintain sound judgment and independent decision making in problem solving and in developing alternative strategies.Proficient in statistical analysis as applied to compensation practices and market analysis.Solid knowledge of wage and hour laws, FLSA classifications, and exemption tests.Firm understanding of accounting & financial implications of compensation practices.Significant experience in determination of salary grades/bands/classifications.Familiarity with performance management principles and concepts.Expert skills with MS Office suite.Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Must be able to present possible solutions in a clear, concise format. Solid presentation skills.Excellent time management and organization skills.Ability to effectively develop and lead a high performing team.Ability to persuade and influence diverse audiences and manage through adversity with tact and political acumen.Must be methodical and detail-oriented, and comfortable dealing with complex situations and issues. Ability to drive multiple projects simultaneously with a track record of excellent results
Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications

years of management level responsibility in Compensation.3
years leading manager, consultant, and analyst level compensation employees.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
