Accounts Payable Specialist (PHA)-52695
My client in Contra Costa County has an excellent opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist.
The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude and a problem solver.
Compensation:
Direct Hire $45-50k (DOE).
PRIMARY DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
1.
Process for payment approximately 500-1000 invoices per month.
o Match Acknowledgement of Work Performed (AWP) with invoice o Match Purchase Order with invoice o Send invoices to the appropriate person for approval and coding o Input invoices into Contract and/or Accounts Payable system o Prepare checks on a weekly basis for Controller review o Mail checks to vendors after returned with signatures 2.
Research past due invoices o Research utilities immediately in order to not have service interruption o Determine disposition of past due invoices over 30 days old on statements received from vendors o Reconcile Vendor statements monthly (any revolving accounts) 3.
Filing o Setup project/vendor files and file checks in a timely manner o Create new files as necessary 4.
Vendor relations:
o Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely and courteous manner o Notify vendors of any changes to payment of invoices when check is mailed 5.
Year end o Prepare prior year files for transfer to storage and setup files for the new year 6.
Backup Front desk o Rotating backup during breaks and lunch.
REQUIREMENTS:
o 5 years Accounts Payable experience o Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Word & Automated Accounting System Processing (Timberline software a plus) o Enjoys a team environment in a professional setting o 1 year experience with lien release, preliminary notice and contract billing About Nelson:
